The main high street of Yoxford has an interesting and pleasing mix of architecture dating from the 14th century right up to the 20th century.  Taking its name from the ford over the river, Yoxford is known locally as ‘the garden of Suffolk’ because of its setting between two stretches of parkland.  Its good location slightly off the A12, make it a central holiday destination for visiting Southwold, Aldeburgh, Dunwich, and Minsmere.  The village has a well stocked shop, The Black Dog Deli and the Rococco Restaurant at Satis House Hotel.  The well known Edwardian seaside town of Southwold is a short drive north of Yoxford and the picture postcard seaside village of Walberswick is also a short drive north.  Close by are a number of excellent pubs offering good food, a warm welcome and a variety of excellent beers.

Luxurious, modern and spacious are all words that could just begin to describe The Cow Shed which has been rebuilt from a former farm building, The Cow Shed has been completely transformed to provide an exceptionally spacious and luxurious holiday accommodation for for a couple looking for a memorable holiday just a short drive from the Suffolk coast.

Marion and Philip, the owners of The Cow Shed, have been sure to consider all types of holidaymaker wishing to stay. A paved ramp leads up to the front door to the property, which opens into the large open plan living area with a high, pitched ceiling making this space feel lovely and light and wonderfully inviting. Bi-fold doors to the right fully open to look out onto the sensory gravel garden and really do help to ‘bring the outside in’. A hand-built kitchen has been expertly equipped with all you could need to cook up a storm and comes complete with dishwasher.  The sitting area centres around the Smart TV; a great addition and so perfect for those wishing to use their own Netflix accounts to catch up on their favourite box sets.

The master bedroom is a lovely bright room which has the benefit of a king-sized bed and looks out over the rolling fields behind. A glass wall separates the en-suite shower room from the sleeping area, but also helps to make the room continue to feel light and bright. As an added treat, you can look forward to enjoying the digital Aqualisa shower, which can be programmed to your desired temperature via a separate control system. Eco-conscious guests will also love it’s timer facility, should you wish to preserve water.

Underfloor heating powered by an air-source heat pump provide heat and hot water to the cottage.

The Cow Shed is one of three cottages at Wolsey Farm and has the benefit of shared access to a shared laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer – ideal after a day on the beach.
