Yoxford is a thriving Suffolk village with a village shop, post office and excellent restaurants from fine dining to more casual café-style or pub food. The village is also well known for its antiques and includes a handful of small antique shops as well as the Yoxford Antiques Centre which features a wide range of independent dealers and a café and gardens.
The delightful village of Peasenhall – a couple of miles away – has a lovely café, an award-winning pub at Sibton called The White Horse and a fabulous deli and café called Emmetts, purveyors of fine Suffolk hams and once supplier to The Sandringham Estate and Queen Mother – and more recently one of Rick Stein’s food heroes!
For walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers, Suffolk Coast and Heaths is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Heath offering access to rare birdlife and acres of heathland to explore. The wetlands are a breeding ground for many rare birds and you can watch red deer roaming the heath or otters swimming in the reedbed pools. Minsmere has a packed programme of activities for all of the family and a visit to this magical place is a must during your stay!
