Located in the countryside just outside the pretty village of Yoxford, Hog Hill Cottages provide the perfect rural escape. The owners, Marion and Philip live in Wolsey Farm House, an historic regency property in the grounds of the former farm which is located at the end of a single track no-through road with no traffic noise – just the occasional tractor! Other residents at Wolsey Farm include two very friendly Labradors, Ila and her daughter, Ishka, together with our five hens – eggs are usually available to purchase.
Hog Hill Cottages were originally developed in 2012 to an extremely high standard with the first two self catering cottages, Plough and Harrow, being converted from an original cart lodge with a hay loft above. At the end of 2019, we completed the refurbishment of a single storey barn which had gradually fallen down over the years. All three have been luxuriously furnished to provide everything you need during your stay and feature panoramic, unspoilt views of the surrounding Suffolk countryside. The Cowshed has been developed as a single storey cottage to be inclusive for those guests requiring easy access and space for those with mobility issues.
The village of Yoxford is a mile away by footpath or road and is well-served by the Black Dog Deli and coffee shop and Satis House Rococco Restaurant, plus a very well stocked local shop and many other excellent local establishments within short driving or walking distance. Sadly our two pubs are closed at present.
The High Street a handful of antique shops including the well known Yoxford Antiques Centre. The peaceful wetlands of RSPB Minsmere are a short drive away and the Suffolk Heritage Coast at Southwold, Dunwich and Aldeburgh is easily accessible. Southwold and Walberswick are a short drive away to the north of Yoxford and are a must see for visitors to the area.
